Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix demonstrated a talent for sports early, and discovered her athletic abilities during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships after only 10 weeks, after her first attempt. Felix agreed to sign a contract with Adidas for an official career at Adidas in 2003. She after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to study elementary education. A year later Felix earned the first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece breaking an all-time junior world record taking 200 metres at 22.18 seconds. Felix became the world's youngest athlete to win the 200 meters in the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix took part at her first Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo always finishing in the top three in all her competitions.
